Program Overview

Bachelor of Computer Application offers sound knowledge in designing computer applications, paving your path to a challenging career in the field of Information Technology. It also provides students with hands-on experience in 3 years on Web Designing, Mobile Application Designing, and other software-based applications.

The BCA course structure spreads across six semesters focusing on Basic Mathematics & Computer Programing Algorithms, Computer Applications & Web Designing Languages, Accounting, and Finance & E-Business Management. The course content is regularly updated to keep pace with changes in the business environment.

Duration & Eligibility: 3 Years (Six Semesters)

  • Candidate with 50% marks in aggregate with Mathematics as subjects of examination at the 10+2 level.

Why BCA program at BIT RAK?

Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) is an educational track that concentrates on Applications of Computers to various fields. BIT RAK adopts a well structured curriculum for BCA program from the BIT-RANCHI. The BCA is a three year, six semester program for grade 12. The program prepares students to gain knowledge in computer software development, software design and implementation. The course also has exposure to some basic mathematical constructs and algorithms, which the students will use in industry. Training is also provided by the curricula to mould the students into managers. .

Events Guest Lectures & Workshops Organized

  • Guest lecture by Dr. Swapan Purkait on Thursday, Nov. 26th, 2015.for Computer science students on “career opportunities in information security”, which was followed by live demonstration of network management. Dr. Swapan Purkait specializes in Information Security Management Systems, Cyber Crime Investigation and Ethical Hacking. Currently he is a BSI Lead Tutor & Assessor for ISO/IEC 27001 (ISMS), ISO/IEC 22301(BCMS) & ISO 20000(ITSMS). He is also a IRCA-certificated Principal Auditor for ISMS, and Provisional Auditor for ITSMS and BCMS.
  • HACKATHON- Computer Science students Mr. Abdur Rahman Hijazi, Mr. Mohammed Siddiq Mohiuddin, Mr. Amrith Shenava participated in the first month-long hackathon in Dubai and won the first prize that is between 35,000$ and 50,000$ in Equity Funding.
  • Department of computer science organized MS Excel classes for management students in MO15. Seen by many as the industry standard for data analysis, including graphing and producing tables, Microsoft's Excel is a wonderful application that can be used to achieve student learning outcomes.
  • Department of computer science launched cisco (CCNA & CCNP) and Microsoft (MCSA & MCSIT) certification courses for BIT students to prepare them for the working environment and give them an extra advantage over competition in the job market with opportunity to receive both international certification and university degree.
  • Department of computer science organized many workshops on SMART APP DEVELOPMENT in various schools across the UAE. The workshop explored the Android application development and guided the students to build profitable Android apps with no prior experience.
  • Computer science students attended Microsoft Developers Meet on 27th October, 2015. The experts from Microsoft also talked about some new refactoring options and Debugging improvements introduced in Visual Studio 2015 what the students need to know.
  • Department of computer science organized a one week workshop MAYA, on 3D Animation starting from 21st of June, 2015.
