It calls for originality, creativity, conceptualization, perception, aesthetic values and a holistic judgment of people, places, objects, and events. The five-year architecture degree at BIT offers a unique combination of Design, Culture, Science and Technology. It gives you the skills needed to design and create new buildings, from private homes to skyscrapers and shopping centers to hotels. Plus, you have the added advantage of starting your own practice on completing the course and the artistic freedom that accompanies it! The BARCH program at RAK Campus is the oldest of its kind in the region and has the distinction of being the first Council of Architecture approved program outside India, besides being an approved NATA Test Center. The focus of our BARCH program is the teaching through design studio and community based projects. Senior Faculty members and eminent practicing Architects interact with students through guest lectures and workshops. Educational study tours are also arranged for the exposure of History of Architecture and the Contemporary Architecture. Teaching Pedagogy The focus of learning in the Bachelor of Architecture is through Design studio and community based projects. The projects involve the application and integration of the knowledge and skills acquired from supporting courses. Critique sessions will form part of the studio procedure in learning. Support courses include formal lectures, followed by seminars/tutorials. The class room lectures are delivered with experienced, qualified faculty members. Senior faculty members and eminent practicing Architects interact with students through guest lectures and workshops. Students are taken for site visits and building visits to gain exposure to the current developing trends in various fields of architecture. Educational study tours are also arranged for the exposure to the History of Architecture and the Contemporary Architecture.
NATA: The National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) measures the aptitude of the applicant for specific field of study, i.e. Architecture. The test measures drawing and observation skills, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity and critical thinking ability, that have been acquired over a long period of time, and that are related to specific field of study, i.e. Architecture.
A candidate applying to any school / college of architecture in India should have achieved 40% score in NATA, i.e. at least 80/200, for consideration of admission into first year B.Arch.

Yes it is; a minimum of 50% for the subject of Mathematics is a pre-requisite.

Yes. A diploma holder in any stream can apply for the B.ARCH program. But there is no lateral entry to the Second year.
